The Foundation is a proud member of the Safety Harbor Chamber of Commerce.
Founded in 1930, the Safety Harbor Chamber of Commerce is a not for profit
organization of individuals, business persons and entrepreneurs working together
to accomplish much more than any one business could ever hope to achieve.

Safety Harbor was formally incorporated as a City in 1917 with a population of 200
persons. Today 17,000 residents call Safety Harbor home. Primarily a residential
community, the City has maintained the character of a family oriented community while
preserving environmentally sensitive lands and revitalizing our historic downtown Business
District.

The Pinellas Public Library Cooperative serves Pinellas County residents in
member cities and the unincorporated county. The Cooperative office provides
coordination of activities and funding as well as marketing services for the
14 member libraries, as well as the Talking Book Library and Deaf Literacy Center
which is housed at the Safety Harbor Public Library.

The mission of the Friends of the Safety Harbor Public Library is to maintain Safety
Harbor’s quality Library by sponsoring programs and helping to support new
and existing services and technologies through membership and fundraising.
Meetings are typically held the first Tuesday of every month at 5:30 pm at the Library.
